Location: West of Toronto ON
Our client, a leader in wide-format print technologies, fixture & display manufacturing, industrial label printing and packaging is seeking a highly skilled Procurement, Outsource and Sustainability Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will manage relationships with vendors, negotiate the best deals, ensure quality expectations are met, collaborate closely with estimators and plant floor personnel, and integrate sustainability practices across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker and a tough negotiator who can secure the best terms and pricing for our materials and services while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Negotiation: Conduct tough but fair negotiations to secure the best deals on products and services, meeting or exceeding company expectations.
- Quality Assurance: Work with vendors to ensure all materials and outsourced services meet the required quality standards.
- Collaboration: Partner with estimators and plant floor personnel to understand material requirements and timelines, ensuring seamless operations.
- Cost Management: Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality, contributing to the overall profitability of the company.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, new products, and potential new vendors to ensure the company remains competitive.
- Order Processing: Oversee the ordering process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials and services.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Sustainability Integration: Develop, implement and maintain the sustainability program across the organization, including promoting eco-friendly practices and sourcing environmentally responsible materials.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the printing or manufacturing industry.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successful negotiations and securing favorable terms.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with vendors and internal teams.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, or a related field is preferred.
