Newcomer to Canada embarks on promising career in print industry through collaboration between Connecting for Results, Eva’s Print Shop, and Staples Canada
Connecting for Results (CFR), a leading print-industry recruitment firm in Canada, is proud to announce the successful placement of Michael Okechukwu as Digital Print Expert at Staples Canada. This achievement showcases how collaboration between CFR, Eva’s Print Shop, and Staples Canada supports young talent and addresses the increasing demand for skilled workers in the print and packaging industries.
Michael, a newcomer to Canada from Nigeria, arrived in late 2023 eager to build a new life and career. Over the course of his four-month training at Eva’s Print Shop, he gained valuable hands-on experience in bindery and print operations, mentored by Jonathan Gault. Jonathan expressed his pride in Michael’s progress: “Michael’s growth during his time at Eva’s Print Shop has been inspiring. He is reliable, professional, and a quick learner—qualities that make him a standout candidate for the printing industry. It’s incredible to see his journey take this next big step.”
Heather Black, Managing Director of Talent and Strategy at CFR connected Michael with this opportunity. After interviewing Michael, Staples Canada Print Hub Manager Seth Rodness recognized his potential and willingness to learn and offered him a position.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Heather shared: “This is a proud moment for all of us at CFR. By working together with Eva’s Print Shop and Staples Print, we were able to connect a talented newcomer with the right opportunity. Michael’s journey reflects the importance of community collaboration and CFR’s commitment to supporting both the print industry and new Canadians entering the workforce.”
Seth Rodness shared his thoughts on Michael’s potential: “Michael stood out because of his adaptability, eagerness to grow, and positive attitude. I’m excited to have him as a member of the Staples Print hub team.”
This collaboration highlights the importance of partnerships and community-driven efforts in addressing skilled labor shortages in Canada’s print industry.
