Today we’re highlighting accomplished recruitment expert, Heather Black.
Heather is a highly requested talent acquisition professional with 30+ years of print industry experience. Skilled at cultivating new business and delivering customer solutions, her background in marketing, public relations, and business development strengthens her industry experience making her a sought-after expert.
Heather provides full-cycle recruitment services to printers with a specialty in executive searches and “hard to fill” roles. From talent searches to interview preparation and negotiations to onboarding, she is a valued support to hiring managers. With seasoned expertise, Heather seeks out top-tier and diverse talent for current and future hiring needs across her established network of contacts.
As a trusted talent advisor, she has filled roles from senior management to shop floors across the industry, from print and packaging companies to direct mail providers, marketing agencies to equipment providers and print suppliers.
Heather is also available to help CFR clients with business culture assessments and to develop an employer branding strategy that attracts the best talent.
In the industry, Heather is a requested guest speaker and panelist with a special focus on attracting and retaining employees, the future of work, and how AI and the metaverse are transforming the recruitment process. She is passionate about sharing best practices, helping employers to finding a winning employee brand strategy to attract the right talent, creating a positive candidate experience from interview and onboarding to retention and succession planning.

In addition to her work as a public speaker, Heather serves the community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Printing & Imaging Association (OPIA) and is a Career Mentor for Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) Print Wisdom mentoring program for Graphic Communications Management (GCM) students.
Heather’s recent community projects include:
- Presenter on the Future of Work at OPIA’s seminar on Employee Recruitment and Retention.
- Assisted several TMU GCM students to find internship placements, pro-bono.
