Spotlight: Joe Campbell

Mar 26, 2026 | Article, Team

Joe Campbell is a senior packaging industry executive who helps CFR clients tighten operations, streamline manufacturing, and build a more reliable sales engine in the print, packaging, and graphic communications industries.

What Joe Brings to Clients

Joe has built his career in the parts of the business that either run smoothly together or create daily friction. He has led sales, operations, and manufacturing teams, and he tends to look at problems through a “connect the departments” lens so decisions in one area do not create avoidable issues in another. He has worked in both large multinational environments and small to midsized, family-owned businesses, so he is realistic about what can actually be implemented once a plan hits the shop floor. At CFR, he supports clients as a Sales Development and Operations Specialist, bringing a balanced mix of commercial and operational experience to engagements.

  • Focus area: Operations and sales alignment for packaging and related manufacturing businesses, with an eye on what each function needs from the others to execute well.
  • How Joe works: He starts with a structured review of how work flows from customer request to production to delivery, then builds a short list of practical changes a team can actually implement.
  • What clients gain: Clear priorities, fewer handoff problems between departments, and more consistent execution in both manufacturing and customer-facing work.

Relevant Experience in the Industry

Joe’s background is rooted in packaging, with leadership roles spanning general management, operations, and commercial leadership. He served as President and COO at Acorn Packaging and held VP-level leadership in a color-focused group at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. Earlier, he spent over five years with Labelad, moving from Director of Sales and Marketing into a VP and GM role. He also held a Sales Director position with Alcan Packaging. Across these roles, his strengths show up in business strategy, change management, and account management, which are often the difference between a plan that reads well and one that holds up under production pressure.

How CFR Can Help

Joe’s cross-functional approach fits naturally into CFR’s strategic business consulting work, especially when a company needs better operational efficiency, tighter leadership and management routines, or stronger coordination between sales and manufacturing. When a business is preparing for growth, leadership changes, or a transaction, his experience also supports practical planning that connects the front office to production realities, including role clarity, process discipline, and the operational story buyers, lenders, and partners will ask about. CFR can also help with recruiting and staffing when the right operational or sales leadership is missing, and Joe’s on-the-ground understanding helps clients define the role, assess fit, and set new hires up to succeed.
