Job Summary
The Sales Account Executive will be responsible for managing and growing client relationships within the financial services and insurance industries. As companies undergo digital transformation, transactional mail and direct marketing are evolving with CRM integrations, automation, AI-driven solutions, and omnichannel strategies.
This role is 70% account management and 30% business development, focusing on expanding client relationships, optimizing communication strategies, and driving revenue growth. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams (customer experience, production, data, and IT) to provide industry-leading solutions that enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency.
Education:
Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is required.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience min. in sales or account management within a relevant industry (financial services, insurance, fintech, direct mail, advertising agency, digital advertising or marketing automation).
- Experience working with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of transactional mail, direct marketing, CRM integrations, and automation technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Understanding of data security and compliance regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR) related to financial and insurance communications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Account Management (70%)
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in financial services, insurance, fintech, and related sectors.
- Regularly meet with clients across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for discovery meetings, presentations, business reviews, and other client interactions. Maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle to facilitate travel.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring seamless execution of transactional mail, direct marketing, and omnichannel solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance on CRM integrations, automation, AI-driven communication, and data security compliance.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue and achieve quotas.
- Monitor client satisfaction, proactively addressing any concerns.
- Stay informed on industry trends, compliance regulations, and emerging technologies affecting client communications.
- Demonstrate comfort and confidence in meeting with C-level executives, marketing teams, and procurement professionals.
- Business Development (30%)
- Identify and target new business opportunities in the financial and insurance verticals.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan, including outreach and prospect engagement.
- Present the company's secure transactional mail, direct marketing, and data-driven solutions to potential clients.
- Track all sales activities in CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) to ensure accurate pipeline visibility.
- Negotiate and close new business deals aligned with the company's revenue growth targets.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Work closely with management teams to develop targeted campaigns and lead-generation efforts.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience and IT teams to integrate the company's services into client workflows.
- Provide insights to the company's leadership team on client needs, industry trends, and market opportunities.
- Performance & Reporting
- Meet and exceed assigned sales and revenue targets for account growth and new business.
- Regularly update forecasts, sales reports, and client insights for leadership review.
- Ensure all sales activities are properly recorded in CRM, maintaining data accuracy and transparency.
- Compliance & Industry Expertise
- Stay up to date with data security and compliance regulations affecting financial and insurance communications.
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and professional development programs.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing recommendations based on market insights and best practices.
