Position Summary:

As the Director of Manufacturing you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the successful implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Your primary focus will be on optimizing production processes, enhancing shop floor supervision, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and agility. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and support company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, quality control, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of strong and agile shop floor supervision for all shifts and departments using KPIs with targets and live data analytics as key tools for on-going performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Execution of the company EOS Operating Plan based upon a continuous improvement (CI) environment. You will be the primary force behind the implementation of the company KPI improvement plans with overall responsibility for communication, coaching, supervising, and ensuring a laser focus on KPI metric improvements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring a reliable supply chain and effective cost management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Engineering, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of objectives.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Develop and manage an annual manufacturing budget, making data-driven decisions to improve profitability and support company growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and empowering employees to take ownership of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor manufacturing staff, providing regular performance feedback and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, ensuring that our organization remains at the forefront of the printing and packaging industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in a senior leadership role within manufacturing operations, preferably in the packaging or printing industry.
  • High energy and an in-built sense of urgency.
  • Good common sense and “street smarts” (intuitive problem solver).
  • Strong understanding of EOS principles and experience implementing EOS tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural transformation and instill accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in developing and executing cross-training programs and redundancy plans.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
