Estimator

Our client is a print manufacturing and merchandising organization providing end-to-end solutions. Environmentally conscious, the company provides innovative digital solutions for signage, fixtures, packaging, and display programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Estimating Accountabilities:

•       Ensure timely, accurate and competitive pricing for all Screen and Wide Format Digital quote requests

•       Gathers information necessary to estimate jobs including artwork, blueprints, specifications, and other related materials

•       Compiles list of material, labour, and time requirements, and estimates equipment requirements and subcontracted services, utilizes knowledge of products and printing techniques

•       Works with production team to set up benchmarks for time to produce goods to help ensure accuracy of quotes

•       Sources multiple quotes for materials and parts, ensuring best possible pricing from our vendors

•       Cultivate and maintain excellent outside supplier relationships

•       Pulling and checking old dockets to confirm how a job was previously run

•       Checks over dockets for accuracy, including PO’s, prior to their creation and input into production

•       Organize and maintain the materials database within AcurraMIS, checking and adjusting prices as they change

•       Engage in AccuraMIS estimating software, maximizing your knowledge through consistent interaction

General Accountabilities:

•       Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment

•       Maintains technical knowledge through training or by attending educational workshops and seminars, continuing education courses and reading related technical publications

•       Provides weekly/daily input and advice to production team through team meetings

•       Participating in the resolution of customer complaints; assisting CSR’s

•       Following all company policies

•       All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or President

Requirements:

•       Post secondary degree or acceptable experience

•       English language knowledge/ability – speaking, listening, reading, and writing

•       Excellent mathematical skills

•       Ability to think in 3D and breakdown and analyze how things are manufactured or should be manufactured

•       Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

•       Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex processes

•       Understand and thrive on computers and software

•       Previous estimating experience an asset

•       In-depth understanding of Lithography, Screen Printing, and Wideformat printing an asset

•       Multiple types of print production estimating experience an asset
