JOB DETAILS
Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor for their Pre-Print division. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality, and line efficiencies within Pre-Print. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction for productivity and quality standards of all products produced.
What you'll be doing:
- Oversee the effective running of machine centers to standards;
- Provide direction and support to lead initiatives in areas within the production operation where costs can be reduced and growth can be maximized;
- Develop, meet, and exceed annual plant line targets in regards to efficiency, quality, and shrinkage;
- Facilitate meetings with crews to ensure current production quality, where health and safety training are considered and resolved;
- Provide feedback to employees on performance and communicate areas for improvement;
- Conduct annual performance management reviews for direct reports;
- Ensure that the performance management program is conducted and utilized to increase the capabilities of crews and is in line with the overall goals of the division;
- Prepare weekly plant working schedule;
- Complete weekly time sheets;
- All other duties as assigned.
SAFETY:
- Provide direction to ensure specific safety rules, housekeeping, proactive accident prevention and conscious “safety” behaviours are adhered to and enforced if necessary;
- Complete all mandatory safety training;
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required;
- Ensure that PPE is always in good shape;
- Ensure direct reports operate equipment in a safe manner;
- Report all incidents and/or accidents to the Director of Operations immediately;
What you'll bring to the table:
- Post-secondary education;
- Previous supervisory experience working in a manufacturing environment;
- Working knowledge of OHSA;
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Knowledge of flexographic printing an asset;
- Familiar with lean practices an asset;
- Detail oriented;
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
