JOB DETAILS

Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor for their Pre-Print division. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality, and line efficiencies within Pre-Print. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction for productivity and quality standards of all products produced.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee the effective running of machine centers to standards;
  • Provide direction and support to lead initiatives in areas within the production operation where costs can be reduced and growth can be maximized;
  • Develop, meet, and exceed annual plant line targets in regards to efficiency, quality, and shrinkage;
  • Facilitate meetings with crews to ensure current production quality, where health and safety training are considered and resolved;
  • Provide feedback to employees on performance and communicate areas for improvement;
  • Conduct annual performance management reviews for direct reports;
  • Ensure that the performance management program is conducted and utilized to increase the capabilities of crews and is in line with the overall goals of the division;
  • Prepare weekly plant working schedule;
  • Complete weekly time sheets;
  • All other duties as assigned.

SAFETY:

  • Provide direction to ensure specific safety rules, housekeeping, proactive accident prevention and conscious “safety” behaviours are adhered to and enforced if necessary;
  • Complete all mandatory safety training;
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required;
  • Ensure that PPE is always in good shape;
  • Ensure direct reports operate equipment in a safe manner;
  • Report all incidents and/or accidents to the Director of Operations immediately;

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Post-secondary education;
  • Previous supervisory experience working in a manufacturing environment;
  • Working knowledge of OHSA;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Knowledge of flexographic printing an asset;
  • Familiar with lean practices an asset;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
