Our customer is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Professional with expertise
in direct marketing products, particularly within the Not-For-Profit sector, and is current and on-trend with Canada Post and USPS mailing strategies and tactics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully selling direct marketing solutions to Not-For-Profit organizations and agencies, demonstrating a deep understanding of their unique needs and objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Identify and target potential clients and agencies interested in direct marketing campaigns.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Understand the specific goals and challenges of each client to tailor direct marketing solutions accordingly.
- Consultative Selling:
- Conduct in-depth needs assessments to determine the most effective direct marketing strategies for each client.
- Provide expert advice on creative concepts, audience targeting, and messaging to maximize campaign success.
- Collaborate with clients to develop customized direct marketing plans that align with their fundraising or awareness objectives.
- Product Knowledge and Industry Expertise:
- Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in direct marketing and Not-For-Profit fundraising.
- Stay current with trending Canada Post and USPS mailing strategies and tactics.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of our direct marketing products and how they address the unique needs of clients.
- Proposal Development:
- Prepare and present compelling proposals that outline the recommended direct marketing strategies, timelines, and expected outcomes.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and align with client expectations.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including client interactions, proposals, and outcomes.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Your skills will include:
- Excellent understanding of Not-For-Profit fundraising principles and practices.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, specifically in the direct marketing and Not-For-Profit sectors.
- Knowledge of printing, mailing, and creative services related to direct marketing campaigns is a plus.
- Strong listening, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good presentation skills and the ability and instinct to close deals.
- Experience with SaaS sales is an asset (subscription-based sales).
- Domain expertise in financial, insurance, and retail would be considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, and experience using a CRM program.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Minimum of three years of consultative sales experience, with emphasis and proven success in developing and maintaining new accounts.
