Today we’re highlighting industry expert and thought leader, Bob Dale.
With decades of communications management experience, Bob has developed an expertise in business planning and consulting services, and a speciality in transition execution and management support. As an experienced business owner Bob has completed assignments for printing companies, governments, universities and colleges, technology service providers, and major corporations.
On the customer side, Bob was employed by RBC Royal Bank where he was responsible for leading the bank’s national and international efforts for the effective category management. This included product rationalization and transformation activity and supply chain management for all types of print, security products, and advertising channels and services. The initiative required significant transformation for operations in Canada and in over 17 countries where retail and other financial services are offered.
In addition to his work as a consultant, Bob was a part-time faculty member of Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) for over 15 years. He is currently a columnist for Canada’s leading print publication, PrintAction, where he shares his insights on effective cost management, management best practices, and trending topics in the graphic arts industry.
As the chair of the Canadian Printing Industries Association’s (CPIA) print advisory committee, Bob moderates event panels and discussions with leading printers from across Canada who represent this industry. He is also a Trustee of the Canadian Print Scholarships enabling students to have access to educational resources.
In addition, Bob initiated the Print Wisdom mentorship program for the Graphic Communications Management (GCM) students at TMU. The program helps the students to make an informed transition from academic life to the workplace, matching students with industry experts in their area of interest. Bob was recognized for his initiative, receiving a Canadian Printing Award from PrintAction and Outstanding Volunteer Award from TMU.
Bob continues to serve the student community across Canada, and recently spoke to up-and-coming talent at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) about the future of the print industry.
